DCC Family Ministry

Church leaders partnering with parents for the spiritual formation of children and youth.
What we are about:

The Donelson Children’s Ministry (Birth-5th grade) and Student Ministry (6th-12th grades) work together with Donelson families to help children grow to be disciples of Jesus, learning to:

Love God — living in a vital relationship with the Father.
We teach them to know the story of God in the Bible, learning who God is and how he wants us to live. We help young people grow in faith and encourage them to become devoted followers of Jesus.

Love Each Other — developing loving relationships with other followers of Jesus.
We provide environments for kids to build friendships with young people who share their values and faith. And we bring adults into their lives who will model, teach, and reinforce what their parents are teaching.

Love Their Families — growing in God-honoring relationships to their parents and families.
We teach children the importance of honoring their fathers and mothers, as the Ten Commandments tell us to. And we help them learn what following Jesus means for how we treat our siblings and how we care for aging relatives.

Love the World — learning to serve people in the world around them.
We help young people learn that following Jesus is not just about what we do in church or at home, it’s about serving people in need, sharing the love of Jesus with those around us, and treating others the way we want to be treated.

Our church cares about the spiritual development of our children and teens, and we believe that we will be more successful in training our children if we work together with parents. We are committed to help parents live out in their homes what Jesus called the greatest command:

Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”

Deuteronomy 6:7-9
