What is Family VBS?
At High Seas Expedition, families will explore the mighty love of God on a journey that will change them forever! High Seas Expedition is filled with incredible Bible-learning that families will see, hear, touch, and even taste! Bible Point crafts, family building games, cool Bible songs, and tasty treats are just a few of the High Seas Expedition activities that help faith flow into real life.
As we all know, parents play a vital role in the spiritual formation of their children. It is our passion to partner with parents and create environments where families will be engaged together in worship and the study of God’s Word. Highs Seas Expedition will provide opportunities to live out the vision of Deuteronomy 6:4-5. Parents and children will experience this event together.
There will be a staffed nursery for children ages 0-36 months where they will learn Bible stories on their own level.

F.A.Q'S
· Will my 4th & 5th grader enjoy this event? Yes. We would like to encourage older children with younger siblings to fully participate with their families and be examples to the younger members of their family. If your child doesn’t have younger siblings, we would like to encourage them to volunteer to help.
· Where can we pick up our shirts & CD’s? The first order of shirts and CD’s will be available on Sunday, May 16th at the VBS registration table.
· Where will I drop off my children? This event is for the whole family to experience together. You will not be dropping off your children; you will be joining them.
· Why doesn’t Donelson have a traditional week-long Vacation Bible School? The DCC Family Ministry is committed to partnering with parents in the spiritual development of their children. We believe if parents are fully participating with their children, this will encourage the message from Deuteronomy 6:4-5. This is why most of the DCC Family Ministry events are “family events”. In most cases, a traditional VBS involves the children being dropped off and the parents are either volunteering or not involved. Spreading the event over a four week period allows volunteers and families to be rejuvenated and live out what they have learned. It also allows for more people to be involved, since it takes place around the already scheduled Wednesday night class time. The DCC Children’s Ministry strives for its weekly Sunday program to be just as exciting as VBS. Since children have such a great time at VBS, we want to encourage that excitement every time they are with us at DCC. We look forward to partnering with you, as your family grows stronger together in the Lord.
